Takashi Iizuka, the producer of Sonic Lost world, has announced in an interview that the Wii U version of the game will not feature online multiplayer. The 3DS version of the game will have 4 player racing over the Internet. No clues were given as to why the 3DS version has internet racing and the Wii U version doesn’t, but we’re hoping to hear more about this issue soon.
“The Wii U multiplayer is not on the Internet. It’s basically everyone sitting on the same couch. The 3DS for the first time we’re having 4-player versus racing over Wi-Fi and the Internet.”
It seems as if the developers are treating Sonic Lost World as a party game on the Wii U, instead of offering Internet racing that some might want. What do you think of this development? Would you prefer to see Internet racing on the Wii U version of the game, or are you fine without it? Let us know in the comments below.
