Need help with SNES9XTYL ME!!!

Hello!

My model: PSP-1004 PHAT

I'm new to the PSP-world, so I'm kind of a noob.

I'm currently at 5.50 GEN-B (Full) on my PSP, and I need to update it in order to play SNES9XTYL ME (at least that's what I think). I've attempted updating to GEN-D several times without results; I've been using guides on youtube but all I get is a black screen when I'm trying to update.

I've been able to play an older version of SNES9XTYL on my PSP without any problem, but that one is obsolete, so I want to use the newer one.

When I'm trying to boot up the SNES9XTYL ME emulator I just get thrown back into the XMB.

So the question is: How do I get the SNES9XTYL ME emulator to work on my console?
If there's a better emulator out there that I can use, tell me about it.
